Hi, I’m Antoine.
I lived and worked in Chengdu, and I know what it takes to make that move: the job hunt from abroad, the visa paperwork, the first weeks of figuring out how daily life works, and the unwritten rules of a Chinese workplace.
At Masons Au Pair, a Chengdu-based agency, I built the agency’s website from scratch, and it grew to 15,000 unique visitors. I also worked at XMandarin, in Chengdu. Along the way, I kept hearing the same questions about China: where are the real jobs, which visa do I need, what will life actually cost? The answers existed, but they were scattered across dozens of sites, often outdated, and rarely written for Western professionals.
What SilkPath does
SilkPath brings it together in one place, for anyone considering Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan or Macao:
- Curated opportunities: jobs, internships and teaching roles, updated every day.
- Field guides for each territory: visas, cities, cost of living, working culture and practical life.
- A free weekly newsletter with the best new roles, every Monday.
How we select opportunities
- Roles are collected several times a day from public job listings (such as LinkedIn and Jooble) and from listings we review and add by hand.
- We keep English-language roles located in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan or Macao, with the hiring company named.
- Duplicates are removed automatically, and listings are taken down after 30 days.
- Every “Apply” button leads to the original listing: you apply directly with the employer. SilkPath never charges candidates.
- We are not the employer or a recruitment agency, and we can’t guarantee every listing. Always check the details, salary and visa sponsorship with the employer before you commit.
